Delta Sharks ROV Take 4th at International Competition
After winning the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Center’s Big
Island ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) Contest in May of 2009, members of
MBTA’s Big Island Robotics Team known as the Mauna Kea Educational Academy,
were invited to MATE’s 8th Annual International Underwater Robotics
Competition held at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy during June 24-26,
2009. Of the 26 invited teams, we’d like to congratulate the Mauna Kea
Educational Academy who earned 4th Place with their Delta Shark ROV and
became a Regional Winner in the Ranger Class (Intermediate and High School).
